Characterization
Osric is angst-ridden. Torn between the evil in his veins and the good in his heart, he lashes out against tyranny and evil, particularly when driven by the forces of Hell. On an average day, he looks an awful lot like the Man with No Name, complete with Clint Eastwood voice. He wears the large clothing to mask his armor, and a wide-brimmed hat to overshadow his monstrous appearance. His original name was to be a pun: Osric Wadda, the Knight. (Oh What a Night? Anybody? Eh?) However, after retooling the character and making him a Hellbred, it seemed a bit too…well, silly.

History
Osric Wadda was a wicked man. A sad ruler of a pathetic scrap of land. He devoted his life to the forces of the Nine Hells. He was a cruel and paranoid man, and a Disciple of Dispater. He suspected his own subjects of plotting to uprise against him, although not without reason. His guards committed atrocities in his name as he routed out those suspected of conspiracy. In the end, as the peasants rose up and his home was burnt to the ground, Osric barely escaped with his life through one of his (numerous) escape routes. As he slipped away from the waking world, he had visions of the Platinum Heavens. Raziel spoke to him, telling him that Hell would have no reward for him. When Osric awoke, he had no memory of the horrible acts he had committed. The lingering feeling of evil in his blood, however, filled him with hatred for the forces that had ruled him so completely. With great shame and self-loathing, he set out to reforge his destiny, and hopefully to earn his way into the Platinum Heavens.
Osric wasn't always wicked, though. The land he ruled over had been in his family for generations, followers of Saint Cuthbert. Their rule was harsh, but always fair. However, when Osric was young, their lands fell under attack by a blue dragon. Many of the land's noblest champions, Paladins and Clerics and Knights, went forth to battle the Dragon, but all that ever returned were blackened bodies reeking of ozone. The people's prayers to Saint Cuthbert went unanswered. Osric, still young at heart and impressionable, no longer felt that Saint Cuthbert had the power to help his people. Osric sought other means of aid, eventually turning to the forces of the Nine Hells. The Lord of Dis, Dispater, offred Osric the power to save his people in exchange for his soul. With training as a warrior, and Dispater's blessing, Osric took the land's few remaining champions to fight the dragon. The dragon was not killed, but driven off. However, Osric's companions saw the young man's new powers for what they were. Fearful that they would tell, and have him banished from the kingdom, he slew them before returning home.
Osric was hailed a hero, but he grew worse. He knew that he would inherit his family's lands, and not only did he become greedy for them, but began to fear that his family suspected him. He became determined to take his fate into his own hands. He killed his family, one by one. He felt no remorse for his deeds, only a hollow emptiness where his feelings should be. The kingdom gradually became stagnant and decrepit, until his people rose up against him. Now all he has as a memento of his past is his family's signet ring, a gauntleted hand clutching a bundle of wheat. Osric can no longer even recall its meaning.
But the kingdom's story doesn't end here. With no ruler, the Wadda lands began to fall into despair…until a stranger arrived. A pale man with dark eyes, calling himself Richtor. He came clad in heavy armor, carrying an enormous mace, and accompanied by a wealthy woman in sapphire-blue gown. And with their coming, the dragon returned. Richtor seemed capable of placating the dragon, convincing the people that sacrifices were needed to keep the beast appeased. In spite of his supposedly wicked nature, the small kingdom flourished. They produced wheats and grains and other crops in greater amounts than before, always setting aside some of their profits (and younger, more tender children) for the Blue Wyrm. In truth, Richtor is a worshiper of Tiamat. The woman he arrived with, assumed by many to be his wife or consort, is in fact the Blue Dragon, Iothulhargix (Holy Blue Claw), a Cleric of Tiamat. To this day, the Lands of Wadda sit under their watchful eyes, complacent in their shameful deeds in exchange for their good fortunes.
