Skeigh Daetann is a character in the ongoing campaign. He is a chaotic good moon elf cleric/warlock/eldritch disciple of Sehanine Moonbow. Played by Chris, Skeigh serves as the party's primary healer and is probably best known for his expressive mannerisms.
Physical Description
Skeigh is of average height for a male elf his age but slightly underweight which combined with his lack of muscle definition from years of cloistered study leaves him looking slight and unthreatening. Skeigh's face is long, his nose thin, and and his blue-green eyes slant upwards giving him an exotically attractive but somewhat androgynous appearance. His complexion is pale and flawless as growing up away from the hardships of battle has left him free of scars and other damages. His skin has a generally warm glow except in his extremities and the tips of his ears which have a cool bluish tint. Skeigh's most distinctive feature is his hair. Long enough to fall past his shoulders, it appears to be white under bright light but reveals itself to be a light shade of blue in less optimal lighting. Skeigh goes to great lengths to maintain his hair and can often be seen brushing or taking care of it during his downtime. Skeigh wears a blue-violet chasuble with a motif of the phases of the moon that signifies his life of service to Sehanine Moonbow over a golden hued chain shirt and brown leather pants. Because of the combination of magic and elven fabric-weaving magic, dirt and other substances slide off his clothing effortlessly leaving his appearance immaculate.
Character History
Skeigh is the second of three children born to a pair of happily married moon elves, each possessing their own unique magical talents. His older brother is a spellcaster specializing in enchantments and illusions while his younger sister studies a combination of both sword and spell. With neither his brother's wit or his sister's might, Skeigh was born with a unique sense of the normally unseen beings and energies surrounding him. With a little concentration, he can see beings invisible to the naked eye, detect magical fields undetectable to the normal range of humanoid vision, and channel raw eldritch energy through his body. Skeigh's earliest friends were the benign fey creatures who remained hidden to most of the world. Convinced this was a blessing from the Seldarine, Skeigh grew up under the watchful eye of the church of Sehanine Moonbow, studying to be a member of the clergy by day while attempting to understand his own unusual gifts by night. Skeigh chose to become an adventurer in order to see the world; as an adolescent, he grew tired of only seeing the outside world through books and knew that if he could perceive secrets in his environment that others could not, there had to be more to discover in the outside world. Growing up an elf in a matriarchal church with his closest acquaintances being fey, Skeigh grew up with an understanding of gender roles that would be considered alien to races such as humans or dwarves. While he is aware of this fact as he travels the world, he does not intend to change who he is any sooner than your typical male dwarven warrior would shave his beard and put on a dress.
Characterization
Chris's original plans for Skeigh were very different. Skeigh was originally named Takeda and conceived as a dwarven cleric of Zeus with a deep and booming voice who compared his ability to command eldritch blasts to Zeus's power to hurl lightning bolts. However, the character was changed to an elf in order to avoid taking a hit to his charisma, a very important stat for warlocks. Chris did not like this larger-than-life personality on an elf, and by his second game, Skeigh was being played with a more yielding passive personality and a breathy voice. The turning point came at the end of the second game. The party was fighting phantom mushrooms who were dealing impressive amounts of damage, and worried about the party's lightly armored healer being knocked out or killed, Chris began to play Skeigh as being genuinely afraid of the mushrooms and keeping his distance whenever possible while still patching up the party. Although the character's cowardice has been downplayed in recent adventures, Skeigh's mycophobia has been established as a character quirk. Skeigh has since evolved into a subtle deconstruction of a Mary Sue. For instance, his unblemished appearance is a sign of a relatively luxorious upbringing rather than perfection. On the other hand, Skeigh's relatively mundane and drama-free upbringing is a deliberate subversion of the slain family, razed villages, and/or revenge based backstories popular with many fantasy heroes. However, arguably more than any of the other characters, Skeigh's story is about how he develops over the course of his adventure because he starts from a low place. He is not a natural hero from the start; rather, he began vain and cowardly in spite of his noble intentions. The goal is for him to realistically evolve from his rather humble role now into a champion of the ideals of justice and freedom.

Trivia
- The name Skeigh Daetann is an anagram for Takeda Shingen, the 16th century Japanese general.
- Skeigh's voice was based on Richard Epcar when he was a dwarf and Bakura from Littlekuriboh's Yugioh Abridged Series as an elf. While Skeigh's voice has not experienced any major shifts and remained high pitched with a soft accent, it has gradually become his own unique voice rather than a Littlekuriboh impersonation.
- Skeigh has a habit of running his right hand through his hair after every battle won.
- Skeigh is a vegetarian. However he is not a vegan as he wears leather clothing. Whether this is a tenet of his faith or a personal choice remains unknown.
- Skeigh has an excellent working knowledge of obscure colors.
